The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 is attracting strong interest from international buyers and Indonesian business players ahead of its opening at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten.
As of September 29, 2026, buyers from 113 countries had registered to attend TEI 2026. Meanwhile, 1,553 Indonesian business players, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), had registered as exhibitors as of September 25, 2026.
TEI 2026 will be held from October 14 to 18, 2026, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten.
Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the Ministry is positioning TEI 2026 as a strategic platform to connect Indonesian products and businesses with global markets.
“The number of countries represented by registered buyers and exhibitors ahead of TEI 2026 demonstrates the strong interest of international and domestic business players in meeting through a business-to-business (B2B) platform.
“We hope TEI 2026 will create greater opportunities for Indonesian businesses to enter global markets, explore new markets, and expand their business networks,” Puntodewi said during a press briefing following the Technical Meeting for the 41st TEI at ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Wednesday (September 30).
Puntodewi said the largest number of foreign buyers came from India, followed by China, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Egypt.
The high participation of international buyers is supported by Indonesian embassies and Indonesian trade representatives overseas, which have actively promoted TEI and identified and invited potential buyers from various countries.
Meanwhile, Indonesian exhibitors are grouped into five product zones. The Food, Beverage, and Agriculture Products zone has 754 exhibitors, followed by Fashion and Handicraft with 448 exhibitors and Manufactured Products and Services with 193 exhibitors.
The Furniture and Home Decor zone has 85 exhibitors, while the Industrial Estate zone has 63 exhibitors.
“The composition of exhibitors reflects the diversity of products and services Indonesia has to offer international buyers.
“Through the product zoning system, we want to make it easier for international buyers to find products that match their needs. This will allow business meetings with Indonesian exhibitors to be more focused and targeted,” Puntodewi said.
Carrying the theme “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing,” TEI 2026 will utilize approximately 60,000 square meters of exhibition space. The event targets potential transactions worth US$17.5 billion, with around 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors expected to participate.
TEI 2026 is also designed to facilitate investment opportunities and business cooperation between Indonesian companies and international partners.
To achieve these targets, the Ministry of Trade has conducted various pre-event activities since March 2026. These include exhibitor recruitment and curation, buyer recruitment, the preparation of exhibitor profiles for Indonesian representatives overseas, business promotion and matching activities, as well as a CEO Gathering.
“As of September 21, 2026, 27 business pitching and business-matching preparation sessions had been conducted, involving 17 Indonesian diplomatic and trade representatives overseas.
“These activities consisted of 21 sessions in August 2026 and five sessions in September 2026,” Puntodewi said.
In addition to the physical exhibition, TEI 2026 will feature a virtual exhibition of Indonesian export products to support business continuity, business matching, business forums, memorandum of understanding signings, trade consultations, investment commitments, and a Media Award.
TEI 2026 is also expected to strengthen economic relations with partner countries, particularly countries that have established trade agreements with Indonesia, including comprehensive partnership agreements involving Zimbabwe, Russia, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, and Serbia.
The financing of TEI is not sourced from the state budget (APBN). Instead, its revenues come from participation fees and sponsorships managed by the Professional Event Organizer (PEO).
The PEO-based model is intended to provide services to participating businesses that have the readiness and capacity to enter international markets in terms of product quality, management capabilities, and export readiness.
Also attending the press conference was Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela, Expert Staff for Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said Indonesian representatives overseas—including Indonesian embassies, consulates general, trade attachés, and Indonesia Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs)—play an important role in expanding trade networks and identifying and inviting potential buyers.
Buyers are then connected with Indonesian businesses based on their needs and potential areas of cooperation through activities such as business matching, business forums, and field visits.
“We continue to promote Indonesian businesses to international markets through Indonesia’s overseas representative network. This includes providing information on market opportunities, promoting Indonesian products, and connecting businesses with suitable buyers.
“This synergy is part of our efforts to expand market access and encourage more Indonesian products to enter global markets,” Zabadi said.
Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana, Director of PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti, said the company is collaborating with more than 154 local and international media outlets for TEI 2026. Promotional cooperation has also been conducted with international trade events in Russia, China, Malaysia, and Australia.
The PEO has also prepared facilities to support the attendance of potential buyers and facilitate business transactions during TEI 2026. More than 200 hotel rooms have been allocated for buyers who have undergone a screening process and are considered to have potential business transactions with Indonesian companies.
“We are part of the organizing process to provide excellent services, from connecting buyers with business players to encouraging transactions during TEI 2026,” Vibiadhi said.
TEI 2026 is supported by Pertamina as a strategic partner, Bank Mandiri as the banking partner, and Perum Pengelola Dana Perkreditan (BMPP). The event is also supported by several institutions and organizations, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI).

Products that attracted significant demand during the previous edition included agricultural products, precious metals, palm oil and its derivatives, charcoal and briquettes, as well as agricultural spare parts.
The largest number of buyers at TEI 2025 came from Malaysia, China, India, Nigeria, and Egypt.
