Trump Heads to Beijing to Discuss Iran War and Global Oil Crisis with Xi Jinping

JACKTVNEWS || U.S. President Donald Trump departed from Washington to Beijing on Tuesday (May 13, 2026) for a high-level meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid escalating tensions surrounding the Iran conflict and growing instability in the global oil market.

During the bilateral talks, Trump and Xi are expected to discuss several strategic issues, including trade cooperation, global economic stability, and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which continues to draw international attention.

Before leaving the White House, Trump sought to ease concerns over reported differences between the United States and China regarding the Tehran-Washington conflict. He expressed optimism that the visit could bring positive progress to relations between the two nations.

“We hope this visit will lead to positive developments for both countries,” Trump told reporters prior to departure.

Meanwhile, several residents in Beijing voiced hopes that Trump’s visit would help strengthen economic stability and reduce rising geopolitical tensions that have affected global energy prices and international markets.
