Pre-Event BPA Fair 2026 Marks Early Step Toward Transforming Indonesia’s Asset Auction and Recovery System
JAKARTA – JACKTVNEWS ||The Asset Recovery Agency of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office officially launched the Pre-Event BPA Fair 2026: Car Free Day on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Gate 6 of Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta. The event serves as part of the “Road to BPA Fair” series leading up to the main BPA Fair 2026, scheduled for May 18–21, 2026.
Head of the Asset Recovery Agency (BPA), Dr. Kuntadi, S.H., M.H., stated that the Car Free Day event was strategically chosen as a public engagement platform to introduce the agency directly to the community in a more relaxed and approachable atmosphere.
“BPA has been operating for the past two years and has successfully conducted numerous asset sales. However, many members of the public are still unfamiliar with the agency’s existence and functions. Through this event, we want to be more open and closer to society,” Kuntadi explained.
He emphasized that BPA Fair is not only intended to promote the state auction mechanism, but also to accelerate the recovery of state financial losses and restore victims’ rights from criminal proceeds.
The auction items showcased during BPA Fair 2026 include a wide range of valuable assets such as luxury vehicles, branded handbags, jewelry, and precious metals. All assets have undergone a curation process to ensure they remain attractive and relevant to visitors, while also being maintained in excellent condition.
“Visitors can directly view several auction items, learn how the auction process works, and even create auction accounts on the spot with assistance from our officers. We are also presenting light and fun activities so the public can feel closer to the Attorney General’s Office, especially BPA,” he added.
To encourage wider participation, BPA has also prepared educational and assistance services for prospective bidders. Visitors are able to register auction accounts directly at the venue using computer facilities provided by the committee.
Meanwhile, Head of Asset Recovery Cooperation and Technical Support Division of BPA, as well as Vice Chairman of BPA Fair 2026 Committee, Baringin, S.H., M.H., explained that BPA Fair is part of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office strategy to strengthen transparency in the management of confiscated state assets.
“Evidence that has obtained permanent legal status and is ready for auction certainly carries economic value. Therefore, we want to ensure that the process remains transparent while also educating the public about BPA and the purpose of this event,” Baringin stated.
For this year’s event, BPA is targeting auction transaction values of up to Rp100 billion. Overall, the agency aims to achieve more than Rp2 trillion in state asset recovery through Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in 2026.
“We hope asset recovery can surpass Rp2 trillion and be returned to the state through PNBP,” Baringin concluded.
Members of the public interested in participating in the auction can access the catalog through the official BPA Fair website and complete registration according to the scheduled aanwijzing process.
In conducting the auctions, BPA collaborates with the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) under the Indonesian Ministry of Finance through the lelang.go.id auction service platform to simplify administration and participant account registration.
The committee has also established a contact center service at 0811-8119-1111 to assist participants facing difficulties during registration or throughout the auction process.
BPA Fair itself is a collaborative initiative between the Asset Recovery Agency of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Finance through DJKN, alongside the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara), consisting of Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BRI, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).
