Campuspreneur 2026: Indonesia’s Trade Ministry Strategy to Create Export Startups from IPB Universit.
BOGOR, JACKTV NEWS .co.id June 13, 2026 – Indonesia’s Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso (Busan), has launched an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming university students into future entrepreneurs and exporters through the Campuspreneur 2026 program at IPB University, Dramaga Campus, Bogor, West Java, on Friday (June 12, 2026).
Speaking at the forum titled “Development of Export-Oriented Young Entrepreneurs”, Minister Budi Santoso emphasized the need to change the mindset of university students.
“We want graduates not only to become job seekers after completing their studies, but also to become entrepreneurs and exporters,” he said.
The Ministry of Trade has designed Campuspreneur as a comprehensive “export highway” for students. The program provides export training, product curation, one-on-one mentoring, and direct business matching opportunities with international buyers.
Outstanding products developed by participating students will receive free exhibition space at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, scheduled to take place at ICE BSD City from October 14–18, 2026.
The effectiveness of the initiative has already been demonstrated. During the event, Minister Budi Santoso officially launched the first export shipment of areca nut products worth Rp2.2 billion to Bangladesh and the Maldives. The export was executed by PT Export Tani Nusantara, a startup company managed entirely by IPB University students.
IPB University has shown strong support for the program. Rector Alim Setiawan Slamet stated that Campuspreneur will be integrated into the university’s academic curriculum, allowing participating students to receive academic credits.
“This initiative is in line with IPB University’s vision as a ‘Technosocial Entrepreneur University,’ committed to producing graduates with strong entrepreneurial capabilities,” he explained.
According to the Ministry of Trade, the strategy has proven effective. The government’s MSMEs Can Export (UMKM BISA Ekspor) program recorded transactions totaling USD 193.88 million between January and May 2026. In addition, Indonesia’s network of 46 trade representatives across 33 countries continues to play a vital role in expanding access to global markets.
Students have responded positively to the program. Febridha Putri Jusson, a Business Studies student at IPB University, described Campuspreneur as highly relevant for understanding the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, particularly the proper procedures and mechanisms of international trade and exports.
Launched simultaneously nationwide on April 2, 2026, Campuspreneur is currently being implemented at 19 universities across Indonesia. Its ultimate goal is clear: to transform campuses from “degree factories” into “exporter factories,” producing a new generation of globally competitive entrepreneurs.
